Green Smoothie Bowl

Want a new healthy tasty different energising breakfast option? Try a delicious Green Smoothie Bowl. This has a thickish texture and is eaten with a spoon, so don’t add too much liquid. Toppings are up to you but I have added granola with extra added roasted nuts, dried baked coconut flakes and raw cacao nibs here but a sliced fruit selection is another great addition! great way of starting your day with healthy greens too will boost your mood!

Recipe for one person (roughly as you can play around with the amounts to suit!):

  • 100g Frozen pineapple
  • Fresh Spinach 2 handfuls
  • 150 ml coconut water ( or almond milk)
  • 1 scoop protein powder ( I use Purition Almond or pistachio which has nuts and seeds added)
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina
  • Topping: roasted Nutty granola, roasted coconut flakes and cacao nibs

Simply blend frozen pineapple with the spinach, coconut water (or almond milk), a scoop of protein powder and tsp spirulina. You can add a natural sweetener if you like a spoonful of honey or maple syrup .Pour into a bowl and then sprinkle with toppings of your choice, like here using a nutty granola, dried coconut and cocao nibs. However, could use sliced fruit like banana.

Play around with the ingredients and use what you have or like! Add banana or avocado instead of protein powder for an easy vegan option. This is a fun and fast way to have a healthy different breakfast. Get creative! Enjoy and feel boosted for your day and energised!
